A coordination meeting was held today by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in collaboration with representatives from the Provincial Government of Lanao del Sur. The meeting was held at the Conference Room of the Provincial Engineer’s Office (PEO) in New Capitol, Marawi City. The primary objective was to address concerns regarding the installation of solar panels at the nearly completed Provincial Infirmary Center located in New Capitol.
Attendees included Dr. Princess Elham Sacar, Head of the Provincial Health Office, accompanied by Dr. Faizah Pacol-Adiong, Dr. Jhohainie Rakiin, Nurse V Nurhanisah Carim, Midwife III Nareman Mapandi, and Forester Pili Papandayan, Head of the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office. Representatives from the Provincial Engineers Office included Engr. Highnoon Ditucalan, Engr. Norhafisa Camama, Engr. Norhaya Comayog, along with Zhayrah Ampuan from the Provincial Information Office, Public Relation Officer I Mohaniza Hadjimalik, and UNDP representatives Ricardo E. Torres Jr., Project Manager for the UNDP Renewable Energy Project, and Norlaiza Maunte.
Engr. Comayog presented a perspective view of the infirmary and shared progress photos of the upcoming facility. The group discussed various concerns regarding the solar panel installation, which were promptly addressed by the attendees. Additionally, the UNDP announced plans to conduct a technical training program to assist with the maintenance and installation of the solar panels.
This initiative is part of the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Access for Health Services (RE3ACHS) project, which aims to revolutionize healthcare in Lanao del Sur by utilizing solar power. Supported by the Government of Japan, the project seeks to ensure continuous healthcare services for communities throughout the province.
