Lanao del Sur, June 25, 2025 – The Provincial Government of Lanao del Sur, through the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (PLGU-OPAg) and its flagship program, Mozhor so Kawiyagan sa RAnao (MKRA), successfully conducted a training session on Tilapia Production and Best Practices at Barangay Mapantao, Lumba Bayabao.

The training attracted 30 fisherfolk from the barangays of Mapantao, Lubo Basara, Gambae, Bantayao Poblacion, and Saloloden Beruar, all eager to enhance their knowledge and improve their aquaculture practices.

Key activities during the training included:

♦️Pre-test and Post-test: These assessments were conducted to evaluate the participants’ learning outcomes.

♦️Tilapia Feeding Guide Activity: Participants engaged in calculations to better understand feeding practices.

♦️Cost and Returns Analysis Activity: This session helped attendees assess the financial viability and profitability of tilapia farming.

The event was further enriched by inspirational messages from Hon. Baguinda L. Monte, Barangay Chairman of Mapantao, and Mr. Solaiman Bansao, President of the Bararay United Farmers Irrigators Association. They expressed their gratitude to the Provincial Government of Lanao del Sur, under the leadership of Governor Mamintal Bombit A. Adiong Jr., for its unwavering support and commitment to agricultural development in grassroots communities.

This initiative is part of OPAG’s ongoing efforts to strengthen local food security, improve rural livelihoods, and promote sustainable aquaculture development across the province.
