The Technical Working Group (TWG) of the Provincial Development Framework Plan (PDPFP) recently conducted a workshop aimed at updating and enhancing the PDPFP. This event took place at the New Dawn Hotel Plus in Cagayan de Oro City from June 2 to June 5, 2025.
The primary objective of the workshop was to transform the original 20-year framework of the plan into a more focused 6-year development strategy. This initiative follows a meeting held in 2022, where the TWG presented the plan to the BARMM Regional Land Use Committee (RLUC) in Cotabato City. During that meeting, the TWG received valuable feedback and recommendations for improvements to the plan.
Representatives from the RLUC were also in attendance at the workshop, providing assistance to the LdS-TWG team throughout the process.
To provide some context, the PDPFP is formulated at the provincial level and aims to integrate traditionally separate planning elements. It outlines the long-term vision for the province, identifying development goals, strategies, targets, objectives, and the corresponding Programs, Projects, and Activities (PPAs).
In 2018 and 2019, the Provincial Government conducted a series of workshops and consultations with its component Local Government Units (LGUs), particularly the Municipal Planning and Development Coordinators (MPDCs) and Municipal Engineers. Additionally, input was gathered from Line Agencies, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), and academic institutions to ensure a comprehensive planning process for the PDPFP.
With the support and commitment of all sectors, Governor Mamintal Alonto Adiong, Jr. has pledged to continue efforts in improving the lives of community members, as outlined in the PDPFP.
