In its continued commitment to uphold the welfare and safety of its constituents, the Provincial Government of Lanao del Sur (PLGU-LDS), under the directive of Governor Mamintal “Bombit” Alonto Adiong Jr., has once again deployed a dedicated medical team to assist Filipino pilgrims from the province undertaking the sacred journey of Hajj.

This annual initiative underscores the PLGU-LDS’s deep sense of responsibility and care for the Muslim community of Lanao del Sur, particularly those fulfilling their religious obligations abroad. Recognizing the physical and emotional demands of the pilgrimage, the presence of a medical support team ensures that pilgrims receive immediate and professional medical assistance, should any health concerns arise throughout the course of their journey.

The medical team , composed of healthcare workers from the Provincial Health Office – PLGU LDS, is working together with the NCMF team to provide essential services including health monitoring, emergency care, and wellness support. Their deployment is especially vital considering the extreme weather conditions, the elderly population of pilgrims, and the physically taxing rituals of Hajj. The Provincial Government also extends its deepest gratitude to Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go and the National Commission for Muslim Filipinos, for their invaluable support in sponsoring additional medical personnel for this year’s delegation. His contribution significantly strengthens the team’s capacity to serve more pilgrims and provide broader health coverage throughout the pilgrimage.

More than just logistical support, the PLGU-LDS medical mission represents the provincial government’s enduring commitment to compassionate governance. It reflects the PLGU’s vision of inclusive service—reaching even beyond the borders of the province to accompany Maranaos in one of the most significant spiritual experiences of their lives.
