The Provincial Government of Lanao del Sur (PGLDS) joined the global celebration of World Environment Day by spearheading a simultaneous clean-up drive and tree-planting activity earlier today in Barangays Pawak and Pagalamatan, Saguiaran.

With the theme “Ending Plastic Pollution: Emphasizing the Importance of Community Involvement in Addressing Environmental Challenges,” the event supports PGLDS’s commitment to the #BeatPlasticPollution campaign, aiming for a cleaner, plastic-free environment.

The initiative was made possible through the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO), headed by Forester Pili Papandayan, in partnership with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Philippine National Police (PNP), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), and the Barangay and Municipal Government Units of Saguiaran. This joint effort highlights the collective commitment of various sectors to promote environmental stewardship.

PGLDS continues to champion sustainable practices and raise environmental awareness across the province, reaffirming its dedication to protecting and preserving the environment for future generations.
