The Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO), led by Forester Pili Papandayan, participated in the 2nd quarter site inspection of the NPC Agus Hydropower Plants Project earlier today as part of the Multi-Partite Monitoring Team (MMT).

The MMT is composed of representatives from various agencies and organizations, including DENR PENRO Lanao del Norte Region 10, DENR CENRO Iligan City, NPC-MinGen, EMS-MENRE-BARMM, the Provincial Governments of Lanao del Norte and Lanao del Sur, LGU-Iligan City, LGU-Marawi City, LGU-Municipalities of Balo-i and Saguiaran, DOE–Mindanao Field Office, NGO-SALLAM, community leader CFC Oikos, NIA-IMO Lanao del Sur, and DPWH.

The inspection covered several project sites: Agus 1 and 2 Hydroelectric Power Plant Complexes (HPPC) and ECC Compliance Projects in Lanao del Sur, Agus 4 and 5 HPPC, the Balo-i Flood Control Project, and Agus 6 and 7 HPPC.

PENRO’s involvement in the inspection reflects a growing dedication to responsible resource management and stronger collaboration between national and local authorities in Mindanao.
