Members of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC), presided over by Board Member Abdulhamid Amerbitor, convened today at the Social Hall, New Capitol Complex, for their 1st quarter meeting. The agenda included a weather update, reports on fire incidents in the province, and the PDRRMC’s accomplishments for 2024.
Mr. Shaminoden M. Sambitory, Head of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), provided a weather update and highlighted eight newly passed and approved resolutions related to disaster risk reduction. He also announced the inclusion of new members in the PDRRMC, which now includes the University DRRM Office, Marawi City Engineers, and the Marawi City DRRM Office.
FSINSP Ysrael M. Kamid of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Lanao del Sur reported on fire incidents recorded in the province for 2024. Assistant Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Monaima A. Adiong, RSW, Ph.D., shared updates on the emergency response efforts of the PSWDO. Meanwhile, the Provincial Health Office highlighted the CEPC Localization Workshop held on September 9–11, 2024. Ashpea Ambor of the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) also reported on the office’s accomplishments in disaster preparedness.
The meeting underscored the province’s ongoing commitment to strengthening disaster response, preparedness, and inter-agency coordination to ensure the safety and well-being of communities in Lanao del Sur.
