September 28, 2014 marked the beginning of the monthlong celebration of Philippine Civil Service Commission’s 114th anniversary. A parade within the Capitol Complex grounds opened the kick off ceremony, followed by the symbolic release of balloons in the sky. It thereaft er progressed to a formal program held at the gym, encouraging all employees to actively participate in the three-day Provincial Capitol Sports Fest. Carrying a theme that speaks of a sentiment shared by the Capitol employees, “Tapat na serbisyo alay ko, dahil lingkod bayani ako,” the Provincial Capitol family warmly welcomed the aff air’s Guest Speaker, CSC Field Offi ce Director Maribel Alejo. She was also joined by Philippine Information Agency Regional Director Th elma B. Oliver, Provincial Heads, and the Sanggunian Panlalawigan members. During the ceremony, Alejo mentioned that she was grateful to Gov. Mamintal Adiong, Jr. for inviting her to partake in this year’s program, which commenced with fun parlor games, Q and A teasers, and impromptu intermissions from the diff erent department representatives. She sincerely hopes that at the end of the sports fest, more people will be brought closer together, camaraderie will be further strengthened, physical fi tness promoted, and most importantly, our resolve to become exemplary public servants bolstered. Gov. Adiong, Jr. offi cially declared the sports fest opened later in the aft ernoon, thus various parlor and ball games ensued.
