The Monitoring and Evaluation (M & E) Focal Point of the Provincial Government of Lanao del Sur (PGLDS) had completed today the 3-day Training Workshop on Results-Based Monitoring and Evaluation (RBME) facilitated by the Center for Global Best Practices (CGBP) held at the Social Hall of the Provincial Capitol.

The training started on April 2, 2025, covering two sessions on monitoring, evaluation, project life cycle, results-based management (RBM), results chain, and outcomes (immediate, intermediate, and ultimate).

In her opening remarks, Provincial Human Resource Management Officer Azrifa Mamutuk Alonto said the training would guarantee that the Programs, Projects, and Activities (PPAs) carried out by each office are thoroughly monitored and evaluated. She added it would focus on key criteria such as design, relevance, outcomes, impact, sustainability, and other important factors.

The training is a testament to the provincial government’s commitment to enhance its delivery of services by strengthening its Provincial Monitoring and Evaluation Committee (PMEC).

Course Director and Master Trainer Dr. Alicia C. Manuel of CGBP shared her expertise on RBME. Sessions 3 to 6 included opportunity and needs assessment, stakeholder analysis, risk assessment, concepts of indicator, theory of change (ToC), logical framework, logframe, monitoring and evaluation system/plan, evaluation techniques, accountability, core humanitarian standards, and feedback and complaints.

The participants engaged in a series of workshops for effective learning and knowledge retention, which involved interactive discussions, group collaboration, and question-and-answer sessions.

Dr. Manuel facilitated discussions that allowed participants to share their thoughts, experiences, and insights, and provided collaborative tasks to encourage participants to work in teams, promote effective communication, and foster networking and relationship-building.

She also gave opportunities to ask questions and receive feedback from the participants, which are essential for clarifying doubts and deepening knowledge.

The training ended with a closing message delivered by Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator Engr. Subaida Mala who underscored the training would serve as a strength and guide to the implementation of the PGLDS’ PPAs.
