In line with the celebration of Farmers and Fisherfolks Month, the Provincial Government of Lanao del Sur, through the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (PLGU-OPAg), launched an additional fertilizer distribution program in the Municipality of Ditsa-an Ramain. Guided by its commitment to “Bringing Public Service Closer to the People,” the provincial government continues to roll out direct support initiatives that address the immediate needs of its constituents—especially in the agricultural sector.
This particular distribution was carried out following a recent validation activity conducted by the office, which identified a total of 248 rice farmers from 24 barangays as legitimate beneficiaries. The barangays covered under this program include Baclayan Lilod, Bayabao, Dado, Buada Babae, Pangadapan, Pagalongan Ginaopan, Gadongan, Pagalongan Buadidingan, Rantian, Pagalongan Masio-on, Darimbang, Sundiga Bayabao, Baclayan Raya, Mandara, Ramain Poblacion, Raya Buayaan, Lilod Buayaan, Bagoaingud, Bubong Dangimprampiai, Dangimprampiai Proper, Buadiolok, Buayaan Madanding, Barimbingan, and Pagalongan Proper.
The primary goal of this intervention is to provide immediate support to rice farmers by addressing one of their most pressing concerns—access to fertilizers, which is essential for sustaining and improving rice production. By reducing their input costs, the provincial government hopes to ease the financial burden on farmers and help enhance crop yields and overall food security in the municipality.
This program reflects the continuing commitment of the Provincial Government to uplift the livelihoods of its farming communities and ensure that support reaches those who need it most—down to the grassroots level.
