Marawi City, Lanao del Sur – The Coalition of Lanao Media and Radio Frequencies conducted a successful election on June 22, 2025. This event brought together various two-way radio groups from the province, marking an important step toward better collaboration and representation in Lanao del Sur and Marawi City.

In the election, Sultan Japar Hadji Rauf, also known as King Badawe, was re-elected as President of the coalition. Lacs “Gringgo” Panantaon will serve as the Executive Vice President. Datu Abul Khair “Tunay na Kaibigan” Gandamra has been appointed as the Vice President for Marawi City, while Malik “Survivor” Adiong and Malic “Alif Men” Amerol will serve as Vice Presidents for the 1st and 2nd Districts, respectively.

The Board of Directors includes a diverse group of individuals, each bringing different perspectives and experiences to the coalition. The newly elected board members are:

The election was held transparently, with representatives from various media outlets participating in the voting process. The newly elected officers pledged to promote collaboration among media practitioners and improve the quality of information shared in the region.

In his acceptance speech, President Sultan Japar Hadji Rauf highlighted the need for unity among two-way radio groups and the importance of addressing the challenges within the industry. He called for collective efforts to encourage responsible journalism and support local initiatives that empower the community.
