A coordination meeting was held between the DSWD Field Office X and the Provincial Government of Lanao del Sur (PGLDS) earlier this morning at the PGAD Conference Hall of the Provincial Capitol to update and finalize plans for the second-quarter implementation of the Bangsamoro Umpungan sa Nutrisyon (BangUn) Program. The program is currently being implemented in the municipalities of Kapai and Tagoloan.

BangUn Program Team Leader and Regional Focal Person Hannah Grace C. Anlap expressed her gratitude during the meeting for the vitamins and medicines provided by the Provincial Nutrition Action Office and the Provincial Health Office for the program’s beneficiaries.

Acting Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Monaima Adiong affirmed the office’s commitment to providing food assistance and requested technical support from BangUn for nutrition-sensitive planning.

As a new partner collaborating with the program this year, Provincial Agriculturist Mohammad Rajiv Radia proposed a sustainability strategy. He suggested empowering beneficiaries to plant vegetable seeds, enabling them to become suppliers for the BangUn Program, the Supplementary Feeding Program, and other similar initiatives. This strategy aims to provide a potential source of income and improve household food security.

The PGLDS has supported the DSWD’s Bangsamoro Nutrition Program since its inception in 2018.
