On June 19, 2025, the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office of Lanao del Sur (PDRRMO-LDS) successfully conducted the 2nd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) at the Mindanao State University-Lanao National College of Arts and Trade (MSU-LNCAT) in Marawi City.
The drill aimed to enhance earthquake preparedness and response among participants. Organized by the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) Central, this nationwide exercise assessed and improved the country’s readiness for earthquakes.
Participants engaged in activities that simulated real earthquake scenarios, allowing them to practice essential safety measures. The event not only raised awareness about earthquake preparedness but also fostered community cooperation among students, faculty, and staff.
Following the activities, PDRRMO Head Shaminoden Sambitory presented Certificates of Appreciation to participants for their active involvement.
The success of the drill was made possible through the collaboration and support of various response and partner agencies, including:

This drill not only served as a vital exercise in disaster preparedness but also highlighted the importance of community resilience in the face of natural calamities.
