As part of the preparations for this year’s Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG), the Ministry of Interior Local Government Lanao del Sur (MILG-LDS) conducted a pre-assessment today at the Social Hall, New Capitol Marawi City. This pre-assessment aimed to ensure the readiness of the Provincial Local Government of Lanao del Sur for the upcoming SGLG.
The SGLG assessment covers various areas, including Financial Administration and Sustainability, Disaster Preparedness, Social Protection and Sensitivity, Health Compliance and Responsiveness, Sustainable Education, Safety, Peace and Order, Business-Friendliness and Competitiveness, Environmental Protection, Tourism, Heritage Development, Culture and Arts, and Youth Development.
In her remarks, new SGLG focal person Ms. Hayanisah B. Lucman expressed gratitude for the unwavering support from the Ministry of the Interior and Local Government (MILG) BARMM and Lanao del Sur in providing daily services to the province. She also thanked the heads of office for their contributions to their respective SGLG sectors, which aim to achieve the institutionalized award, incentive, honor, and recognition-based program that encourages local government units (LGUs) to continuously progress and improve their performance across various governance areas.
Municipal Local Government Operations Officer (MLGOO) Sunurah Ampatua-Mangotara, representing MILG Provincial Director Cader D. Indar Jr., emphasized that the SGLG pre-assessment is not merely an evaluation but a commitment to transparency, accountability, and good governance among government employees. She assured attendees that the MILG Provincial Office serves not only as a pre-assessor but also as a coach for each sector, expressing hope that the results of the pre-assessment will guide improvements in government practices.
The assessment team comprised representatives from the MILG Lanao del Sur Provincial Office, including Sumirah Ampatua Mangotara (LGOO VI), Sittie Raiza D. H. Ali (LGOO II), Sharifah M. Serad (LGOO IV), Fatmah-Sorah Macadaag (LGOO II), Sittie-Mariam Mangotara (LGOO VI), Acmilah Langco (LGOO VI), Alitaher Lucman Jr. (LGOO VI), and Yusoph Khadafi M. Pangandaman (LGOO VI).
This pre-assessment is a crucial step in the ongoing efforts to enhance governance in Lanao del Sur, ensuring that local government units are equipped to meet the challenges of effective public service.
