The 103rd Brigade held a simple Send-Off Ceremony this morning at Campo Ranao, Marawi City, honoring the dedicated troops of the 23rd DRC, 2ID; 72nd DRC, 7ID; 101st DRC, 10ID; and 104th DRC, 10ID.
Among those present were Western Mindanao Command (WESMINCOM) Commander, Lt. Gen. Antonio G. Nafarrete; Commander of the 1st Infantry “Tabak” Division, Major General Yegor Barroquillo Jr.; 103rd Infantry Brigade Commander, Col. Billy dela Rosa; and Deputy Joint Task Group “Haribon,” Col. Ian Noel Ignes.
In his welcome address, Col. Ignes expressed gratitude for the presence of the troops who came from Nueva Ecija, Tanay, Rizal, and Davao. He emphasized the critical role these soldiers played in ensuring peace and order during the recent elections in Lanao del Sur, acknowledging their unwavering commitment to service.
The ceremony featured an Award Presentation, recognizing the exemplary contributions of the troops, followed by a traditional “Boodle Fight.” This communal feast allowed the troops and commanders to share a meal together, symbolizing their camaraderie and brotherhood.
Also in attendance were Provincial Election Supervisor Atty. Ellis Miguel, along with representatives from the Provincial Information Office and the Provincial Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Office.
The Send-Off Ceremony served not only as a farewell but also as a celebration of the unity and dedication of the men and women in uniform, who were ready to serve and protect their communities during this crucial time.
