The Provincial Government of Lanao del Sur, through the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (PLGU-OPAg), successfully conducted a fertilizer distribution activity for rice farmers in Tamparan as part of the Mozhor so Kawiyagan sa Ranao (MKRA) Program. This initiative is designed to provide timely agricultural support to farmers, particularly those currently in their planting or land preparation stages. A total of 209 rice farmers from six barangays—Raya Buadibarao, Raya Tamparan, Lilod Tamparan, Bocalan, Guinaopan, and Talub—benefited from the program. The distribution team personally visited the farmers in their fields to ensure that the assistance was given directly to those who needed it most during this crucial production period.

During the distribution, several barangay officials were also in attendance to show their support, including Barangay Chairman of Raya Buadibarao, Hon. Mastura Maomin Guminto, who expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Provincial Government of Lanao del Sur, especially under the leadership of Governor Mamintal “Bombit” Alonto Adiong Jr. and Vice Governor Mohammad Khalid “Mujam” Rakiin Adiong. “Lubos po kaming nagpapasalamat sa tulong na ipinapaabot ng ating pamahalaang panlalawigan. Malaking bagay ito para sa aming mga magsasaka lalo na sa panahon ng pagtatanim. Nawa’y magpatuloy pa ang ganitong programa na tunay na tumutugon sa pangangailangan ng aming komunidad,” he said.

Recognizing the importance of timing in farming, PLGU-OPAg prioritized those with active or imminent cultivation activities. The provision of fertilizer at this crucial point helps enhance crop yield and promote sustainable farming practices across the municipality. This program reflects the provincial government’s unwavering commitment to uplift the agricultural sector and empower local farmers with the tools they need to succeed.
